I just can't get 'em to stay, they wag their tails and run away

Never obey my commands, the whole thing's gotten out of hand

It's dog eat dog in this here town, that's just the way it goes

They'll end up in the nearest pound, pacing to and fro

While my frustration grows...

Could it be they all have fleas and feel no sense of shame?

Could it be they bark too much and drive the block insane?

Could it be they're on the hunt and chasing every pigeon?

Could it be attention spans have shrunk to just a smidgeon?

Fidos come and Fidos go, they're awful hard to teach

The moon is full, the tide is high, they're frolicking at the beach

While I'm left holding the leash... Stay!
